About

Beau Allen Collins (b. 1994, Knoxville, TN) is an American Conceptual artist whose practice includes sculpture, painting, performance, installation, photo, and video. Collins' work interrogates the complexities of perception, power structures, and the human condition. His projects often involve site-specific interventions, employing a rigorous process of research and experimentation to convey ideas that challenge conventional modes of viewing and understanding. Collins' work has been exhibited across the US at prominent institutions and galleries, garnering acclaim for its intellectual rigor, formal innovation, profound engagement with contemporary issues, and having an inclination for, "heightening and re-contextualizing the mundane."

Through a multidisciplinary approach, Collins investigates the interplay between an idea's prominence over aesthetics, and experimentation over execution. His works often employ subtle gestures and unexpected contradictions to disrupt the viewer's expectations and encourage a deeper reflection on the underlying mechanisms of social and political systems. By blurring the lines between art and life, Collins aims to create meaningful dialogue with his audience, prompting them to question their own assumptions and engage with the world in a more critical and insightful manner.
